Path Filters: A Class of True Inline Topologies With Transmission Zeros

چکیده

In this article, we present a comprehensive discussion of new class inline microwave filters with transmission zeros in the response, namely, path filters. The main features are highlighted, and an original (synthesis-based) design approach is presented, relying on derivation suitable characteristic polynomials. addition to classical generalized Chebyshev characteristic, two characteristics introduced (namely, bounded reduced Chebyshev), which allows improving flexibility requirements assignment A method for synthesis low-pass prototype also introduced, overcomes limitation based manipulation transversal (whose may fail case filters). Finally, proposed designing considered has been validated by several examples that include evaluation polynomials, synthesis, dimensioning physical structures waveguide technology.

Mode-division multiplexed transmission with inline few-mode fiber amplifier.

We demonstrate mode-division multiplexed WDM transmission over 50-km of few-mode fiber using the fiber's LP01 and two degenerate LP11 modes. A few-mode EDFA is used to boost the power of the output signal before a few-mode coherent receiver. A 6×6 time-domain MIMO equalizer is used to recover the transmitted data. We also experimentally characterize the 50-km few-mode fiber and the few-mode EDFA.

We show transmission of a 73.7 Tb/s (96x3x256-Gb/s) DP-16QAM modedivision-multiplexed signal over 119km of few-mode fiber with inline multi-mode EDFA, using 6x6 MIMO digital signal processing. The total demonstrated net capacity is 57.6 Tb/s (SE 12 bits/s/Hz).
